By Douglas John Imbrogno | This Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, the debut International Queer Film and Art Forum (IQFAF) festival concludes with an online event featuring the film winners in Round 1, and I am glad to report that 'HOUSE IN THE CLOUDS: The Artistic Life of Robert Singleton,' won for best 'Documentary Feature.’ Produced by myself and Bobby Lee Messer, the documentary had its world premiere Sept. 17, 2023, at a well-attended, lovely Clay Center event in Charleston, W.Va. IQFAF founder Robert Jerome Pagan was so taken by this portrait of Robert Singleton, an 86-year-old international artist who calls the West Virginia hills home— as it traces his life from trauma to creative triumph, from tribulation to equilibrium — that the festival is awarding him a Lifetime Achievement Award in Fine Arts. I was asked to tape a short acceptance award video. Please take a look. (I added bubbles). And hang around for Gandalbert's appearance!
